Icons Series, a new concept in sport and entertainment, today announced the addition one of the greatest cricketers of all time, AB de Villiers, to the Team Rest of World roster for the inaugural US event at the prestigious Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, NJ, on June 30 – July 1, 2022.
The competition will bring together the world’s most iconic athletes across multiple sports, and features a 10-hole team match-play tournament format with global sporting stars involved like never before. Tickets to the event are available via icons-series.com starting at $25.
De Villiers is widely regarded as one of the greatest cricketers of all time. The former captain of South Africa, he was named the International Cricket Council’s Cricketer of the Year three times across his 18-year career. One of the most powerful batters the sport has ever produced, De Villiers was innovative and notorious for his destructive range of shots whether it be at the top or in the middle order. Whether it be test match, one day or T20, he was always the first name on the team sheet.

De Villiers will join forces with Team Rest of the World led by four-time Major champion and captain Ernie Els, boxing’s pound-for-pound king Canelo Alvarez, two-time Champions League title winner and legendary Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, and England National Team Captain and three-time Golden Boot winner, Harry Kane.
Team USA and Team Rest of the World will announce additional Icons to the event lineup in the coming weeks, with 12 total icons per team participating.
