Icons Series is thrilled to announce cricketing icon, Brian Lara, as the newest member of Team ROTW for the inaugural US event at the prestigious Liberty National Golf Club on June 30-July 1, 2022.

Brian Lara made a point of scoring higher than anyone ever had in a cricket career that left him at the very pinnacle of the sport, but he’ll be looking to score low in the Icons Series at Liberty National on June 29th.

The Trinidadian holds the record for the highest individual test score and the highest individual first-class score, but it wasn’t just the size of the scores, it was the way he did it. His extravagant and exuberant stroke play, always delivered with the ultimate style and grace made him everyone’s favourite batsman.

Brian has now brought that same style and panache to his golf game, although many spectators are forced to do a double take as they see the greatest left-handed cricket batsman teeing up and driving off right-handed.

He did actually try to play left-handed for a while but found it was more natural to play opposite to how he played his first sport.

And appetite for the battle….his Icons series captain Ernie Els need look no further than the day he scored his then world record 375 for West Indies against England. That morning, Brian Charles Lara decided to play 18 holes in Antigua at 6am before rewriting cricket history.

He’ll be looking to make some Icons series history at Liberty National.

Brian Lara will join forces with Team Rest of the World led by four-time Major champion and captain Ernie Els, former World No. 1 and three-time Grand Slam winner, Ash Barty, boxing’s pound-for-pound king Canelo Alvarez, two-time Champions League title winner and illustrious Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, England National Team Captain and three-time Golden Boot winner, Harry Kane, and two more cricketing icons, AB De Villiers and Ricky Ponting.

Team USA and Team World will announce additional Icons to the event lineup in the coming weeks of the event, with 12 total icons per team participating.

Tickets to the event are available here, starting at $25.
