Philip Nikodem Jagielka (born 17 August 1982) is a retired English footballer widely regarded for his consistency, leadership, and versatility in defense. A product of Sheffield United’s youth academy, he became a cornerstone of their team, earning the club’s Player of the Year award multiple times. Jagielka joined Everton in 2007, where he enjoyed over a decade of success, making 385 appearances and serving as captain, renowned for his composure, aerial ability, and crucial goals, including a stunning strike in the Merseyside Derby. Capped 40 times for England, he represented his country in major tournaments such as UEFA Euro 2012 and the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
