18th September 2024, Bangkok: Chelsea and England icon John Terry has been named as the latest pick in Lee Westwood’s Team England in the highly anticipated Reignwood Icons of Football event in Bangkok, Thailand, from March 1st to 2nd, 2025.
The former Chelsea and England captain, who plays off a golf handicap of 4, will join other global football icons as they swap their football boots for golf clubs at the Robinswood Golf Course in what is poised to be a thrilling competition that brings fans closer to the players than ever before.
The Reignwood Icons of Football event will feature some of the biggest names in football as they showcase their golf skills in a head to head battle for the Icons Trophy. JT, known for his leadership and competitive spirit, is expected to be a key player for Team England alongside teammates Paul Ince, Robbie Fowler, Joe Hart, Paul Scholes, and Theo Walcott, under the captaincy of golfing superstar Lee Westwood. They will face off against Team World, led by Sergio Garcia and featuring football greats such as Dwight Yorke, Patrik Berger, Gabriel Batistuta, Peter Schmeichel and Luís Figo.

Hosted at the impeccable Reignwood Park venue, Icons Series will set the scene for 24 of the most recognisable footballers on the planet to battle it out as Team England and Team World for the 2025 Icons Trophy. Allowing fans closer than ever, two teams of 12 captained by two of the most famous golfers in the world, Sergio Garcia and Lee Westwood, will bring their years of rivalry from pitch to green across a 10 hole format of the highest drama, where every shot counts.
The final players on each side will be revealed in the build up to the event. Fans are encouraged to pay close attention to the Icons Series social media channels for regular updates.
