Robert Bernard Fowler (born 9 April 1975) is a retired English footballer celebrated as one of the Premier League's most natural goal-scorers. Noted for his clinical finishing, Fowler scored 183 goals in 369 appearances for Liverpool, earning the nickname "God" from the club's fans and becoming a legend at Anfield. Beginning his career at Liverpool in 1993, he quickly rose to prominence, scoring five goals in a League Cup match and winning the PFA Young Player of the Year award twice. Fowler also had successful stints at Leeds United, Manchester City, and returned briefly to Liverpool in 2006, before playing for Cardiff City and Blackburn Rovers. He earned 26 caps for England, scoring 7 goals and participating in UEFA Euro 1996 and the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
